BJP brings together Ministers from 14 States for water-resources workshop
BJP held a two-day water-resources workshop for 25 Ministers from 14 party-ruled States, chaired by party president Nitin Nabin.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) concluded a two-day workshop on water resources on Thursday, bringing together 25 Ministers from 14 States where the party is in power. The session, held at the party's headquarters, was chaired by BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
Speaking to the press, senior BJP leader Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said the workshop was organised by the party's Good Governance and Policy Research department, which he has overseen for over a decade. The department has previously been involved in conferences of BJP and National Democratic Alliance Chief Ministers.
Experts at the workshop addressed ministerial effectiveness, the broader landscape of India's water resources, and the relationship between organisation and government. Sahasrabuddhe said the aim was to help Ministers perform better, improve governance outcomes, and further the goal of good governance.
The workshop followed a conference of Water Resources Ministers convened earlier by the Union government. According to Sahasrabuddhe, the BJP's session began with an address by Nabin, with a small inaugural programme held at his residence.
Ministers handling portfolios such as irrigation, rural drinking water, and drinking water and sanitation attended the workshop. Nabin interacted with the participants and shared his perspectives on the subject.
