Bombay HC Orders CBI Probe Into Disha Salian Death After Father Alleges Cover-Up

Bombay High Court orders a CBI probe into the 2020 death of Disha Salian, following her father's allegations of a conspiracy linking it to Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

The Bombay High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the death of Disha Salian, a former manager to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The order comes six years after her death in June 2020, following a petition by her father, Satish Salian, who has consistently alleged that her death was not a suicide but part of a larger conspiracy.

Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, after falling from a building in Mumbai's Malad area. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. Satish Salian has claimed there is a definite link between the two deaths, asserting that his daughter had sent a video of "wrong acts" involving Rajput that was connected to the events.

The High Court bench of Justices Sarang Kotwal and Ranjitsinha Raja Bhonsale has ordered the CBI to register an FIR and record Satish Salian's statement. The court specified that no individual should be treated as an accused until sufficient material is gathered during the investigation.

Satish Salian has expressed confidence in the CBI probe, stating he is "100% sure" his daughter's death was not a suicide but a conspiracy involving "influential" people. He has also questioned the CBI's earlier closure report on Rajput's death, which had ruled it a suicide, and has called for that case to be reopened.

In his petition, Salian alleged that his daughter was gang-raped and murdered, and that a politically orchestrated cover-up protected certain influential persons. He had sought an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray, who has rejected the claims as false and motivated. The Mumbai Police had previously concluded after an inquiry that Salian's death was a suicide.
