Brad Pitt's Survival Thriller 'Heart of the Beast' Joins San Sebastian Lineup
Brad Pitt and David Ayer's 'Heart of the Beast' has been added to the San Sebastian Film Festival's out-of-competition slate.
The San Sebastian Film Festival has added 'Heart of the Beast,' starring Brad Pitt and directed by David Ayer, to its official selection. The film will screen out of competition at the 74th edition, which runs from September 18 to 26.
Festival organisers confirmed the selection on Instagram, noting that Pitt and Ayer will attend the screening. The announcement marks the first major star presence confirmed for this year's event.
The survival thriller follows a former Army Special Forces soldier whose small plane crashes deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Stranded, he must find his way back to civilisation while battling the elements. A retired service dog named Odin aids him, protecting him from bears, wolves, and other threats as he climbs mountains and crosses rivers.
Pitt stars alongside Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. He also produces with Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen, and Ayer. The screenplay was written by Cameron Alexander, who also serves as executive producer with a team that includes Damien Chazelle, Scott Lumpkin, Chris Long, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, Andrew Lary, Sophie Cassidy, and Zack Conroy.
'Heart of the Beast' reunites Pitt and Ayer, who previously collaborated on the 2014 war drama 'Fury.'
