German authorities have detained two Bulgarian nationals following the discovery of several incendiary devices at a construction site in Munich, located close to the premises of multiple weapons manufacturers. The arrests were confirmed by the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) on Thursday.
The suspects, a 28-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, were taken into custody in the early hours of the morning. Police believe the intended target was a company operating in the arms industry, though the specific firm has not been officially identified.
Investigators stated that the attempted arson attack appears to have been politically motivated. At least one of the thrown devices ignited a fire, which was subsequently extinguished by responding fire crews. A separate incendiary device was rendered safe by special forces units.
Authorities reported no significant damage resulting from the incident. The suspected involvement of the two detained individuals has yet to be fully confirmed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
