The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has proposed the creation of a unified digital platform spanning different modes of transport. The initiative is designed to allow stakeholders across the logistics ecosystem to share information seamlessly, thereby reducing the compliance load on businesses, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The proposed platform is expected to facilitate smoother coordination among various transport operators, regulators, and businesses. By enabling real-time data exchange, it could help eliminate redundant paperwork and procedural delays that often hamper the movement of goods.
For MSMEs, which typically have limited administrative resources, the platform could significantly lower the cost and effort involved in meeting regulatory requirements across road, rail, air, and water transport. The move aligns with broader efforts to improve ease of doing business and enhance supply chain efficiency in India.
