CBSE Board Exam Schedule 2027: Date Sheet Expected Soon, Key Details Students Need
CBSE is expected to release the Class 10 and 12 board exam schedule for 2026-27 soon, with exams likely between February and March 2027.
The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to publish the board examination schedule for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2026-27 academic session on its official website, cbse.gov.in. No official notification has been issued yet, but the board's recent cycles offer a clear sense of the likely timeline.
Expected release window
For the 2026 examinations, CBSE put out a tentative date sheet on September 24, 2025, and followed it with the final schedule on October 30, 2025. If that pattern holds, students and schools can expect the tentative date sheet for 2027 in the last week of September 2026, the final timetable between October and early November 2026, and the examinations themselves between February and March 2027.
What the date sheet will carry
The tentative schedule is expected to set out the overall exam timeline, the subject-wise main examination dates for both classes, a separate Class 12 timetable for sports students, the timeline for the proposed second board examination for Class 10 under the two-exam system, and the dates for Class 12 supplementary or compartment examinations. The board may also indicate the approximate number of candidates likely to appear. During the 2026 cycle, CBSE said around 45 lakh candidates were expected across 204 subjects in Classes 10 and 12.
Why early notice matters
An early intimation of the schedule lets students build study plans around subject gaps and the order of papers, plan revision and mock tests, and give more time to high-weightage subjects. Schools can use the same notice to align academic calendars, schedule internal assessments, and plan teacher deployment for examination and evaluation duties.
How to download the timetable
Once the timetable is published, candidates can visit cbse.gov.in, open the examination-circulars or latest-notice section, find the notification for the Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations 2027, open the official PDF, verify the class, subject code, subject name, examination date and timing, and save the file for reference.
Clarifications for candidates
CBSE has answered several common queries. Pre-board marks are not added to board examination marks. Whitener is not permitted in the examination hall. No marks are deducted for exceeding the word limit. The board also notes that making notes helps students understand a chapter and builds confidence.
The syllabus for both classes is available at cbseacademic.nic.in, where sample question papers and question paper designs for standard and basic level Mathematics can also be found. Students who do not clear Class 10 or Class 12 can reappear as a private candidate or as a regular student admitted in school; further details are available on the board's website.
Candidates and parents are advised to rely only on official CBSE channels and to ignore unverified social media posts and rumours about board examinations.
