CBSE Class 10, 12 Date Sheet 2027 Expected Soon on cbse.gov.in
CBSE is expected to release the 2027 Class 10 and 12 board exam schedule soon, with a tentative date sheet likely by late September 2026.
The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to publish the board examination schedule for the 2026-27 academic session on its official website, cbse.gov.in, with Class 10 and Class 12 students awaiting the timeline for their 2027 exams.
What the date sheet is likely to contain
Candidates can expect the tentative schedule to set out the overall exam timeline, the main examination dates for both classes, the Class 12 examination for sports students, the Class 10 second board exam window, and the dates for Class 12 supplementary examinations. The board is also expected to indicate how many students will appear in the 2027 cycle.
For the 2026 cycle, the board had said that roughly 45 lakh candidates were expected across 204 subjects in Classes 10 and 12.
Release pattern
Going by past practice, the tentative schedule is expected by the last week of September 2026, with the final date sheet following in October or November. Last year, the tentative exam date sheet was issued on September 24, 2025.
Why an early schedule matters
An early or tentative intimation allows students to build structured study and revision plans around the gaps between papers. It also helps schools plan academic and administrative work, including the deployment of teachers for examination and evaluation duties. Early access to the schedule is expected to help students across the Science, Commerce and Arts streams prioritise high-weightage topics and manage exam stress.
Last year's exam dates
The Class 10 main board examination for the 2026 cycle ran from February 17 to March 11, 2026, while the second board examination was held from May 15 to May 21, 2026. The 2026 board exams for both classes began on February 17.
Two board exams for Class 10
In keeping with the National Education Policy 2020, the board introduced the two-examination system last year, giving students a second chance to improve their scores.
Support programme in Ladakh
The board on Monday began a month-long in-person support programme for Classes 10 and 12 students in government schools at ten locations in Ladakh: Leh, Nubra (two places), Shams, Zanskar, Kargil, Drass, Changthang, Sankoo and Chiktan. For Class 10, the sessions cover Mathematics and Science; for Class 12, they cover Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics. The programme focuses on subject understanding, assessment strategies, examination techniques and time management. Experienced teachers and resource persons from CBSE-affiliated schools across the country have been nominated to conduct the sessions, which aim to build confidence and better prepare students for the board examinations.
Teacher recruitment update
The board announced the Primary Teachers (PRT) Tier 2 results for recruitment in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti on September 14. Candidates can check their result or shortlisting status on the official website by logging in through the application portal.
