CBSE Expected to Release Tentative 2027 Board Exam Date Sheet Soon
CBSE is expected to announce the tentative date sheet for the 2027 Class 10 and 12 board exams soon, following its practice of early intimation.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the tentative schedule for the 2027 board examinations soon, going by the pattern of previous years. The timeline for Class 10 and Class 12 students will be published on the board's official website, cbse.gov.in.
In the last examination cycle, the board issued a tentative date sheet on September 24, 2025.
What the tentative date sheet is likely to cover
Candidates appearing for the 2027 board exams can expect the early intimation to include the overall examination timeline, the main date sheets for Class 10 and Class 12, the Class 12 board exam schedule for sports students, the timeline for the Class 10 second board exam, and the dates for the Class 12 supplementary examinations.
An early view of the schedule allows students to plan their preparation in advance and work out a strategy for the months ahead.
Student numbers and planning
As in previous years, the board is also expected to indicate how many candidates are likely to appear for the 2027 examinations. While announcing the tentative schedule for the 2026 cycle, the CBSE said that approximately 45 lakh candidates were expected to appear across 204 subjects in Classes 10 and 12.
How students and schools use the schedule
Once the timetable is out, students can draw up structured study plans and set a revision strategy that accounts for the gaps between papers. The date sheet also helps schools align their academic and administrative work, including the deployment of teachers for examination and evaluation duties.
