CBSE Reschedules CTET 2026 to December 12 and 13
CBSE has announced that the 22nd CTET will be held on December 12 and 13, 2026, shifting the exam from its earlier September 6 date.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has set December 12 and 13, 2026 as the dates for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The announcement, made through a public notice dated September 14, marks a shift from the earlier scheduled date of September 6.
The change follows the reopening of the application window, after which the board decided to push the examination to the year-end slot. Candidates who had applied for the September session can now refer to the revised schedule.
According to the notice, the exam city intimation slip will be made available at least 15 days before the test. This slip tells candidates which city their examination centre will be located in. Applicants have been advised to keep checking the official CTET website for updates.
The admit card will be released two days before the examination and can be downloaded through the Candidate Login section of the official website.
With the dates now confirmed, aspirants can align their preparation plans accordingly. Those who have completed the syllabus may turn to revision, previous-year papers and mock tests, while section-wise practice can help identify weaker areas. Regular mock tests are also useful for building speed and time management ahead of the exam.
