CBSE to Announce Revised CTET 2026 Exam Date After Registration Window Closes

CBSE is expected to announce the revised CTET 2026 exam date soon after the registration portal closes on September 10, with city slips and admit cards to follow.

The Central Board of Secondary Education is set to announce a revised date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026, with the registration window closing on September 10. In an earlier public notice, the board had indicated that the new schedule for the 22nd edition of the examination would be shared only after the portal shut, so an update is expected shortly.

Once the revised date is confirmed, the board will move through the usual pre-exam steps. First comes the advance intimation of the examination city, which tells candidates where their test centres will be located. This slip is typically issued about ten days before the exam, giving applicants time to arrange travel and accommodation without a last-minute scramble.

The admit card will follow the city intimation. It will be released online on the official CTET website, ctet.nic.in, and is a mandatory document to carry to the examination hall. Only candidates who have completed registration will be able to download it.

Under the schedule announced earlier, the test was to be held in two shifts — Paper 2 in the morning from 9:30 am to 12 pm, and Paper 1 in the evening from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. Whether these timings hold for the revised date will be clear only when the board issues its fresh notification.

Until then, registered candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official portal for the revised date, the city intimation slip and the admit card.
