
C-DOT Unveils 14 Indigenous Quantum Products to Secure India's Networks
C-DOT launched 14 indigenous quantum products covering QKD and PQC to protect India's communication networks from future quantum threats.
The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the telecom research arm of the Department of Telecommunications, has unveiled a series of 14 indigenous quantum products designed to strengthen the security of India's communication networks. The launch took place during the organisation's 43rd Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi.
The new portfolio, termed the Quantum Product Series, spans two key technology areas: Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). The products are aimed at protecting data against the future threat posed by quantum computers, which could potentially break conventional encryption methods.
Among the QKD offerings are the Q-AKSHAY CD, a compact fibre-based system, and the Q-AKSHAY MD, which uses the Measurement Device Independent protocol for enhanced security. The portfolio also includes critical components like the C-SPD single-photon detector and the C-RD wideband RF driver.
On the PQC front, C-DOT introduced a range of quantum-safe encryptors. These include the Q-SETU for Layer 3 networks, the high-speed Q-MAHASETU for enterprise networks, and the defence-grade Q-VIKRAM and Q-PARAKRAM. The series also features the Q-AMOGH optical encryptor for high-capacity links, the Q-DARSHAN video IP phone, and the Q-VACHAN in-line node for upgrading existing phones.
Further solutions include the Q-RAKSHAK enterprise network protector, the Q-VAAYU wireless link security system, and the Q-VAJRA1000 access node for integrating quantum security into existing infrastructure.
The products were unveiled by Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, alongside Minister of State Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and other senior officials. A booklet consolidating the quantum solutions was also released at the event.
