Celine Dion serenades fans outside Paris hotel ahead of comeback shows

Celine Dion treated a small crowd to an impromptu performance outside her Paris hotel on Tuesday evening, just days before she is set to launch a major concert residency in the French capital.

The 58-year-old singer emerged from the Royal Monceau hotel at around 6:30 p.m. to find fans waiting for her. Rather than simply acknowledging them, she stopped to interact with the group before breaking into a rendition of "Pour que tu m'aimes encore," one of her signature French-language songs. Fans joined in as she sang and danced.

Dion is in Paris to prepare for a series of 16 concerts scheduled for September and October at the Plenitude Arena, located in the city's western suburbs. The first performance is slated for September 12.

The upcoming shows represent a significant milestone in Dion's return to live performance. She had stepped away from touring after revealing in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.

Her most recent high-profile performance came at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she sang "Hymne à l'amour" from the Eiffel Tower in a moment that drew global attention.

Dion has sold nearly 260 million albums worldwide and is known for hits such as "My Heart Will Go On," "Because You Loved Me," and "Pour que tu m'aimes encore."
