Celine Dion Arrives in Paris Ahead of First Concerts Since Stiff-Person Syndrome Diagnosis

Celine Dion made a stylish entrance in Paris on Friday, blowing kisses and forming a heart shape with her hands as she arrived ahead of her first concert series since disclosing her battle with stiff-person syndrome. The 58-year-old singer was greeted by a crowd of fans and journalists outside a city hotel, with supporters shouting messages of affection and encouragement.

Dion, wearing a beige trench coat, high heels, and dark shades, acknowledged the warm reception and spoke briefly to French broadcaster BFMTV. "I am ready and I'm a bit uptight of course because it's been a long time," she said. She also expressed her deep connection to the French capital, calling it her "second home."

When asked which song she would open with, Dion kept the details under wraps, replying, "I can't say, it's a big secret!"

The upcoming residency, titled "Celine Dion Paris 2026-2027," consists of 16 shows scheduled for September and October at the Plenitude Arena in the city's western suburbs, with the first performance set for September 12. An additional 10 concerts are planned for May next year.

This series marks a significant milestone for the Grammy-winning artist, who has largely stepped away from touring since canceling her Courage World Tour as her condition progressed. She disclosed her diagnosis of the rare neurological disorder in 2022.

Dion made a memorable return to the spotlight at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, performing "Hymne à l'amour" atop the Eiffel Tower in the rain. With nearly 260 million albums sold worldwide, she remains one of the best-selling and most decorated artists in pop music history, known for hits like "My Heart Will Go On" and "Because You Loved Me." The Plenitude Arena, which can hold 40,000 spectators, was also used as a venue during the Paris Games.
