Chirag Paswan Receives Death Threat, Home Ministry Alerts Security Agencies

Union Minister Chirag Paswan has been targeted with a death threat, delivered through an unsigned letter that warned he would be killed by "hardcore terrorists." The communication, which also contained two mobile numbers, was received at the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, which Paswan heads.

Paswan's secretary formally flagged the threat to the Union Home Ministry, urging an urgent investigation and a reassessment of the minister's security arrangements. The Home Ministry has since informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the matter has been escalated to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Bihar government.

The minister, who also serves as the national president of the Lok Janshakti Party, currently holds Z-Plus security cover, the highest category of protection provided to high-risk individuals in India. The threat comes amid heightened concerns over the safety of public figures, and authorities are expected to review his security protocol in light of the letter's contents.
