Chirag Paswan Urges Election Commission to Address Public Doubts on Electoral System
Chirag Paswan calls on the Election Commission to forcefully dispel public misgivings about the electoral system, warning that lost trust would harm democracy.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan on Tuesday urged the Election Commission to address public doubts about the electoral system, warning that any erosion of trust would be detrimental to democracy.
Speaking to reporters, Paswan said the poll body should come forward with clarifications more forcefully. He stressed that the Commission need not respond to statements made by Rahul Gandhi and his associates, but must focus on clearing the misgivings in the minds of the people.
"If the people start losing trust in the electoral system, that will not augur well for democracy," Paswan said. "Therefore, I think the Election Commission must come out with its clarification more forcefully. It need not respond to what Rahul Gandhi and his associates are saying. But it must dispel misgivings in the minds of the people."
His remarks come amid ongoing public debate over the integrity of the electoral process. Paswan's appeal underscores the importance of maintaining confidence in democratic institutions.
