Chlorine Gas Leak at Sehore Water Plant Hospitalises Four
A chlorine gas leak at a water filtration plant in Sehore, MP, affected locals. Four were hospitalised but are out of danger.
A chlorine gas leak from a water filtration facility near the Kahiri Dam in Lasudia Khas village, Sehore district, caused distress among local residents on Tuesday night. The incident prompted a swift response from district authorities.
According to police officials, several people in the vicinity experienced eye irritation and breathing difficulties following the leak. Four individuals were subsequently admitted to the Sehore District Hospital for observation and treatment.
Senior doctor at the district hospital, Dr. Hariom Gupta, confirmed that no one sustained serious injuries. He stated that all those admitted are out of danger and in stable condition.
Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Choubey said that a coordinated team comprising doctors, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, and police has reached the spot to manage the situation.
Local sources indicated that chlorine gas was being used to purify dam water at the plant when the leak originated from a tank. As a precautionary measure, the administration is securing the surrounding area to prevent any further untoward incidents. Authorities have assured that the situation is under control and the local administration remains fully alert.
