CJP to Hold Delhi March on Sept 5, Says Centre Failed to Keep Promises

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a peaceful protest march in Delhi on September 5, accusing the Centre of failing to follow through on commitments made to the youth last month.

The party's announcement comes nearly a month after it withdrew its Jantar Mantar protest over the NEET-UG paper leak, following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. At that time, the CJP said the government had agreed to withdraw all FIRs filed against protesters and provide financial aid to families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide.

According to the CJP, neither of these promises has been fulfilled. The party also said the Centre has not given clear responses on issues raised before the Supreme Court.

The march is scheduled to begin at India Gate and proceed towards the Delhi Police Headquarters. The CJP said families of NEET aspirants who died and victims of alleged police brutality will lead the procession.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's National Working Committee on Monday. The CJP pointed to court proceedings on August 18, when the Supreme Court asked the Centre to provide a list of FIRs registered across the country to examine whether they could be clubbed together.

In a statement, the party said, "The patience of young people cannot be mistaken for weakness. Our good faith cannot become an opportunity for the government to betray the young people of this country."

The CJP has appealed to students, youth organisations, and young citizens across India to join the demonstration at India Gate. It reiterated that the protest would remain peaceful and democratic, while urging the government to honour its commitments "in letter and spirit."
