The Bharatiya Janata Party has mounted its own counter, framing the contest as a dozen chief ministers ranged against Rahul Gandhi in defence of Gyanesh Kumar. That formulation places the dispute squarely in the ongoing tussle between the two national parties.
The Congress has remained steadfast in its demand concerning Gyanesh Kumar, and Monday's protests are the latest expression of that stand. The party's general secretary used the Sunday meeting to align district-level office-bearers with the planned programme.
