Congress Team Inspects BRS Farmhouses, Questions Land Dealings

A delegation of Congress MPs and MLAs has raised questions about the source of extensive landholdings and farmhouses linked to leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), alleging that the properties were acquired without proper disclosure.

The team, which included Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi, inspected land and farmhouses in Aziznagar and Moinabad on Sunday. The visits are part of a broader campaign by the ruling party to bring alleged irregularities in land transactions and farmhouse construction into the public domain.

Speaking during the inspection, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the Congress team had earlier examined a farmhouse associated with former Minister T. Harish Rao in Siddipet and lands in Janwada. He noted that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had referred to some of these lands in the Legislative Assembly.

The MP asked how properties in Erravelli, Ranganaik Sagar, Janwada, Aziznagar and Moinabad came to be associated with the family of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He also questioned whether KCR had disclosed the Erravelli farmhouse in his 2004 election affidavit and whether his son, K.T. Rama Rao, had mentioned the Janwada farmhouse when he contested the 2009 Assembly election.

Targeting Mr. Harish Rao, he asked how properties that, according to him, were not reflected in the former Minister's 2004 affidavit had subsequently come into his possession.

At the Moinabad farmhouse of former BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, the Congress MPs alleged that the property fell within the purview of assigned land and questioned how permission had been granted to construct a farmhouse there.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that the BRS leadership had introduced a "farmhouse culture" in Telangana and said the Congress representatives were undertaking field visits to place the details of the land and farmhouse-related allegations before the people.
