Congress MLA Ramya Haridas Injured in Clash With Party Workers in Kerala

Congress MLA Ramya Haridas was injured in a scuffle with party workers in Chirayinkeezhu, leading to police cases against both sides.

A late-night altercation in Chirayinkeezhu, Thiruvananthapuram, on Friday left Congress MLA Ramya Haridas injured and has triggered a police complaint against seven local party workers. Haridas alleged that she was attacked and threatened by fellow Congress leaders during the incident.

The Congress workers, including local leaders Sajith Muttambalam and Sajad, have offered a different account. They claimed that the MLA and her associates confronted them over a WhatsApp post, and the situation escalated into a scuffle.

Haridas, who sustained injuries in the clash, was treated at the Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital. Based on her complaint, police have registered a case against the seven workers. A separate case is also being filed on the complaint lodged by Sajad.

The dispute appears to be linked to the participation of Palayam Pradeep, a staff member of the MLA, in a block panchayat committee meeting. Haridas has clarified that Pradeep is her personal assistant, while Sajad has contested this, claiming that the MLA's PA is actually Vimal.
