Telangana Congress Marks 1,000 Days, Highlights Farm Relief and Jobs

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday said the state government's first 1,000 days in office were defined by a people-centric approach, with farmers' welfare at the core of policymaking.

Addressing reporters, Goud highlighted that crop loans up to ₹2 lakh have been waived, benefiting 25.35 lakh farmers at a cost exceeding ₹20,000 crore. He added that disbursals under the Rythu Bharosa scheme have touched ₹36,000 crore, with per-acre assistance now raised to ₹12,000.

The agriculture sector received a record ₹1.75 lakh crore in total expenditure, he said. This includes ₹30,000 crore for free power to farms, nearly ₹4,000 crore as a bonus for premium paddy varieties, and about ₹3,500 crore under the Rythu Bima insurance scheme.

Goud also credited the government with creating confidence among the state's youth by filling more than 70,000 government posts. He pointed to the introduction of breakfast programmes in schools and colleges, and the launch of construction for 100 Young India Integrated Residential Schools, as evidence of a renewed focus on education.

On social justice, Goud said the government's decisions align with the vision of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He noted that the Backward Classes (BC) caste survey has paved the way for greater equity, and that 42% reservation has been provided to BCs in local bodies.

Goud said farmers, women, agricultural labourers, and weaker sections have been kept at the centre of governance. He described the 1,000-day milestone as an opportunity to reaffirm the government's commitment to inclusive development and social justice, and congratulated Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Cabinet for their leadership.
