CTET 2026: Correction Window Closes Tomorrow; New Notice Hints at December Exam
CBSE's CTET correction window closes Sept 10. New notice file number hints exam may be held in December 2026.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the application correction window for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) tomorrow, September 10. Candidates who submitted their forms during the earlier application phase, which ran from May 11 to June 10, 2026, can still make eligible changes to their particulars until the deadline through the official portal, ctet.nic.in.
According to the board's notice, no corrections will be permitted under any circumstances after September 10, 2026.
While the exam date has not been officially announced, the latest correction notice has sparked speculation among aspirants. The document carries the file number "F.No.: CBSE/CTET/December-2026," a shift from the earlier reference to September. This change suggests the examination, originally slated for September, may now be conducted in December.
The postponement follows a Supreme Court ruling that emphasised giving eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to meet the mandatory TET qualification. In response, CBSE reopened the application window in August for another round of registrations.
CTET will be held in offline, pen-and-paper mode. The test comprises 150 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, to be answered in 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking.
Candidates are advised to intensify their preparation and monitor official announcements for the confirmed schedule.
