CBSE Set to Announce Revised CTET 2026 Exam Dates

CBSE is expected to release revised CTET 2026 exam dates after closing the reopened application portal on September 1.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the revised examination dates for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) shortly. The announcement will follow the closure of the reopened application window, which concluded on September 1.

The board had initially kept the registration portal open from May 11 to June 10, 2026, with the exam scheduled for September 6, 2026. However, citing a Supreme Court observation on giving eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to meet the statutory TET qualification requirement, CBSE decided to reopen the portal on August 25 for candidates who missed the earlier deadline.

In its public notice, the board stated that the revised exam date would be communicated after the portal's closure. Candidates who successfully registered during this window will be eligible to download their admit cards once released. Prior to issuing hall tickets, CBSE will inform candidates about their allotted exam city and centre locations.

The CTET exam follows a multiple-choice question format, with four options per question and one most appropriate answer. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking.

So far, 21 editions of the CTET have been conducted, with the results of the 21st edition declared on March 30, 2026. Candidates are advised to monitor the official CBSE website for the revised schedule and further updates.
