Dancing With the Stars Unveils Season 35 Cast With Olympians, Reality Stars and a Banana Ball Player
ABC announced the 16 celebrities competing for the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars, premiering Sept. 15-16.
The lineup for the upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars" is set, with 16 celebrities from the worlds of film, television, sports and music vying for the Mirrorball Trophy. The cast was unveiled on Wednesday, ahead of the two-night premiere scheduled for September 15 and 16 on ABC.
Returning to host the show are Alfonso Ribeiro and former professional dancer Julianne Hough. The judging panel will again feature Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.
The roster includes a mix of familiar faces and rising stars. Actor Julia Stiles, known for her roles in "10 Things I Hate About You" and "Save the Last Dance," will compete, as will figure skating Olympian Amber Glenn, who helped Team USA secure gold at the Milan Cortina Olympics in February. Guillermo Rodriguez, the longtime sidekick on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" who started as a security guard, is also in the lineup.
Reality television is well represented. Sarah Jane Nader, from the Hulu series "Love Thy Nader," will partner with Hailey Bills, marking the show's third same-sex pairing. Other contestants include a former "Bachelorette" contestant, a star from "Summer House," and a host from the U.K. version of "Love Island."
Athletes joining the competition include a Paralympic gold medalist from the 2024 Paris Games and Bill Olson, a second baseman for the Savannah Bananas, the exhibition team known for its entertainment-focused "Banana Ball" format.
The cast also features actor and dancer Harry Shum Jr., known for "Glee" and "Everything Everywhere All at Once," as well as Jenna Dewan, who starred in "Step Up" and currently appears on "The Rookie." Chef Giada De Laurentiis, musician Isaac Hanson of the band Hanson, and comedian Wood, who performs online as "Fibula," round out the diverse group of competitors.
