Delhi CM Issued Notice Over SIR Discrepancies; Poll Body Says Entry Validated
Delhi's chief minister has been sent a notice over discrepancies flagged during the Special Intensive Revision, but poll officials say her entry has been validated.
The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer's office has issued a notice to the chief minister over discrepancies identified during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, even as it clarified that her entry has been validated.
According to the CEO office, the chief minister's name will be retained in the final electoral roll for the Shalimar Bagh constituency, which is scheduled for publication on November 4.
The notice relates to discrepancies flagged in her entry during the revision exercise. Officials, however, said the validation process for her record has been completed, clearing the way for her inclusion in the updated roll.
The SIR is a constituency-wise exercise in which existing entries are verified and updated before the final roll is released. Notices are issued to electors whose particulars require clarification or correction during this process.
The CEO office's clarification comes amid attention on the chief minister's electoral entry, with the final roll for Shalimar Bagh set to be published on November 4.
