Delhi Government Schools Shine in EducationWorld Rankings 2026-27

Delhi's government schools have secured prominent positions in the EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2026-27, released in Bengaluru on September 24. The rankings, now in their 20th edition, were produced by EducationWorld in association with AZ Research Partners Pvt. Ltd.

The exercise drew on a nationwide field survey of 18,000 respondents, including parents, teachers, educators and counsellors across 34 cities. Around 4,500 schools spanning 22 states were assessed on 14-15 parameters of educational excellence.

In the State Government Day Schools category, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar (DBRA) CM Shri School, Sector 10, Dwarka, claimed third place nationally. The DBRA CM Shri School in Yamuna Vihar was ranked fifth, the Sector 19, Dwarka, school sixth, and the Surajmal Vihar school seventh.

Delhi's central government schools also performed strongly. Army Public School, Delhi Cantt, topped the category nationally, while Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, was fourth. Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, Delhi, took eighth place.

In the Special Needs Schools category, Tamana Autism Centre-School of Hope, Delhi, was ranked fifth, while Sanchetna, Noida, shared sixth position.

Private schools from Delhi-NCR featured across other categories as well. In Co-Ed Day Schools, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, was ranked first nationally. The Shri Ram School, Vasant Vihar/Moulsari, and Nirmal Bhartia School, Delhi, shared second place, followed by Suncity School, Gurugram, in joint third and Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram, in fourth. Step by Step, Noida, was joint seventh, and Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector 10, Dwarka, was tenth.

In Girls Day Schools, Uttam School for Girls, Ghaziabad, ranked second nationally, with Sadhu Vaswani International School for Girls, Delhi, in joint sixth and Carmel Convent School, Delhi, in joint tenth. St Columba's School, Delhi, secured third place in the Boys Day Schools category.

Delhi-NCR institutions also appeared in the Ivy League, Vintage Legacy and International categories. Vasant Valley School, Delhi, was listed in the Ivy League with five stars, while Modern School, Barakhamba Road, received four stars.

EducationWorld Founder-Editor Dilip Thakore said the rankings are intended to encourage schools to keep improving learning outcomes and to help parents make informed choices. AZ Research Partners Founder-Director Shubra Mishra said responses were gathered through face-to-face, telephonic and online interactions, with safeguards to prevent schools from influencing the results.

Schools were evaluated on parameters including academic reputation, faculty competence, individual attention to students, leadership, curriculum, co-curricular activities, sports, community service, parental involvement, teacher welfare, value for money, student well-being, infrastructure and special needs education. Legacy schools were additionally assessed on the quality of their alumni.
