Delhi Man Stabbed Multiple Times by Friend Over Dispute, Dies

A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friend following a dispute in central Delhi. The accused has been arrested.

A 25-year-old man died after being stabbed multiple times by a friend following a dispute in central Delhi, police said on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 11:40 pm on Monday at Dhobi Ghat, near Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital.

The victim has been identified as Shivam Mathur. The accused, Shivam Chauhan (23), was arrested in connection with the murder. Police also recovered the knife used in the crime.

According to a senior police officer, teams received information from LNJP Hospital on September 1, where Mathur was brought with multiple stab injuries. He was declared brought dead by doctors.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Mathur, Chauhan, and their friend Shiv Kumar Gautam had gathered at Dhobi Ghat to spend time together. Mathur and Chauhan were friends but had a pre-existing dispute. The disagreement escalated, and Chauhan allegedly attacked Mathur with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the chest and abdomen.

Gautam, who witnessed the incident, took the injured Mathur to the hospital. His eyewitness account helped police identify Chauhan as the alleged assailant, leading to his apprehension.

The body has been preserved for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
