Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma Slaps Man Filming Road Inspection

A video circulating online shows Delhi's Public Works Department Minister, Parvesh Verma, slapping a young man who was recording him during a road inspection. In the footage, the Minister reaches out with his left hand to pull down the man's mobile phone and then strikes him across the face with his right.

The man, who has not been named, appears to confront the Minister after the slap, but a security guard steps between the two as a small crowd gathers around them. The confrontation took place while Verma was inspecting a road.

Voices from the crowd can be heard reacting to the incident. "How are you hitting him?" one person asks. Another is heard saying that the Minister slapped the man while he was making a video. "No one can slap the common man," a third voice says.

Aam Aadmi Party's Tilak Nagar MLA, Jarnail Singh, posted the video on X, stating that the Minister had come to inspect the road but lost his cool after seeing "scam after scam" being exposed, and then misbehaved with his colleague who was recording. Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also shared the video and called for the Minister's arrest.
