Delhi Play School Teacher Caught on CCTV Assaulting 3-Year-Old, POCSO Case Filed

A 3-year-old was allegedly tied to a chair and beaten at a Delhi play school. CCTV footage led to a POCSO case against four staff members.

A disturbing video from a Delhi play school has surfaced, showing a teacher physically assaulting a three-year-old boy. The incident occurred at Makoons Play School in the Maujpur area of Northeast Delhi, prompting Delhi Police to register a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The CCTV footage shows the teacher pushing the child, seated in a small yellow plastic chair, across the tiled floor using her legs. Once the child is cornered, she begins slapping him forcefully. The family alleges the child was tied to the chair with an apron for hours and subjected to continuous beatings.

The abuse came to light when the child complained of ear pain and his parents noticed bruises on his face and arms. A doctor reportedly found both eardrums swollen and indicated the injuries were consistent with physical assault.

When the parents approached the school administration, they were initially denied that any assault had taken place. The father alleged that the school demanded Rs 1,500 to provide access to the classroom CCTV footage. After payment, the family reviewed recordings from August 16, 17, and 18.

Police have named four accused in the case: school director Sunita Bansal, principal Neelam, and teachers Simran and Pooja. A caretaker has been arrested, according to police.
