Delhi SIR Draft Rolls: 33% Voters Excluded, Rectification Window Opens August 2026

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi has released data on the draft electoral rolls prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) phase, revealing that a significant portion of the electorate has been left off the final list.
According to the official figures, 67.22% of voters were successfully enumerated during this exercise. However, this also means that nearly 33% of the previously registered voters have been excluded from the draft rolls.
The CEO's office has clarified that these exclusions are primarily attributed to two categories: entries related to deceased individuals and those identified as duplicate records. The removal of such entries is a standard part of the electoral roll cleaning process to ensure accuracy.
In light of these deletions, the electoral authority has announced a dedicated window for affected citizens to address their status. Individuals who find their names missing from the draft list will have the opportunity to file claims and objections for rectification.
This correction period is scheduled to run from 31 August to 30 September 2026. The move aims to provide ample time for voters to verify their inclusion and submit necessary documentation to restore their entries if they have been erroneously removed.
