Teenager Gang-Raped in Delhi Park by Three Men Posing as Police

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in a park near Delhi's Kalkaji Mandir by three men who claimed to be policemen, police have said.

According to the complaint, the teenager had gone to the temple with a 17-year-old male friend at around 7 pm on Monday. After they offered prayers, the two moved to a park near the temple at about 7.30 pm.

It was there that the three accused, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, are said to have approached them and identified themselves as policemen. The men allegedly threatened the pair and then raped the girl.

A PCR call about the incident at the park, which lies between Kalkaji Mandir and the ISKCON Temple, was received at 8.45 pm. A police team reached the spot following the call.

The girl, a resident of Delhi, was sent for a medical examination. Police said further legal action is being taken on the basis of her statement.

Investigators are scanning CCTV footage from the park and its surroundings in an effort to identify the accused and piece together the sequence of events. They are also trying to gather details about people who may have been present in or around the park when the incident took place.

A case has been registered under relevant legal provisions, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police said efforts are on to trace and arrest the accused.
