The University of Delhi (DU) has opened the application window for PhD admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, specifically for students who have completed four-year undergraduate programmes at the university or its affiliated colleges under the National Education Policy (NEP) and the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF).
According to the official notice dated August 27, 2026, the registration process began on the same day and will remain open until September 6, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications through the designated admission portal at pgportal.uod.ac.in.
Application Fee
The application fee is non-refundable and is charged per programme. General, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates are required to pay Rs 250 per programme, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates have a reduced fee of Rs 100 per programme.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must have completed a four-year undergraduate degree from DU or its colleges. The minimum CGPA requirement is 7.5 for candidates in the UR, OBC, and EWS categories, and 7.0 for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates. Additionally, all applicants must appear for a test conducted by the respective department or the university.
