Denmark's PM Hits Back at Plastic Surgeon's Unsolicited Nose Advice

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has publicly rebuked a plastic surgeon who sent her an unsolicited offer to alter her appearance, saying she is content with her body and does not need such advice.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the 48-year-old leader said she had just returned from a trip to Ukraine, where she experienced air raid sirens amid the ongoing war, only to find a message from the surgeon suggesting she "fix that little spot on your nose."

Frederiksen, who shared a screenshot of the message without naming the surgeon, said she has received numerous comments about her looks over the years. "I've lost count of how many messages I've received over the years about my appearance," she wrote, citing remarks about her teeth, hair, and a perceived "wart" on her nose, along with advice to get Botox.

In her response, she wrote: "Oh no. I'm happy with my body — I really don't need a male plastic surgeon to have an opinion about it!" She added that she does not interfere with others' appearances and is "perfectly fine with my body — as it is when you're a woman approaching 50."

Frederiksen, a Social Democrat who has served as prime minister since 2019, is one of Europe's longest-serving leaders. She has taken a firm stance against U.S. President Donald Trump's ambitions for Greenland and has continued to support Ukraine in its defense against Russia's invasion.

She concluded her post by saying the unsolicited tips made her feel "indignant" and sent "an extra loving thought" to others who face similar scrutiny over their "perfect imperfections."
