Anderson's Dior Spring/Summer 2027 Show Brings Sheer Fabrics and Metallics to Paris
Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson presented sheer fabrics, metallic trousers and structured tailoring at the brand's spring/summer 2027 show in Paris.
Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson unveiled his spring/summer 2027 collection in Paris on Tuesday, a year after his womenswear debut at the LVMH-owned house.
Models walked a white catwalk laid over the octagonal basin in the Tuileries gardens, watched by front-row guests including the singer Rosalia and actors Anya Taylor-Joy and Jennifer Lawrence.
Sheer fabrics were a recurring motif, folded and pleated into structured skirts or tied into bows with long tails trailing from fitted tops. Shirts and dresses carried fine pleating and flouncy hems.
Metallic snakeskin-effect trousers in silver and green were styled with roomy double-breasted blazers. Other looks leaned into the label's romantic register, including textured skirts and jackets covered in sheer feathered fabric, and dresses with lace panels.
Stripes and checks clashed across shirts, jackets and trousers, while impressionist flower prints appeared on a handful of dresses and skirts. Tailored jackets and coats in gray, beige, black and white were offset by outfits in butter yellow, pastel pink and powder blue.
Anderson has been credited with giving Dior a contemporary edge since taking charge of both womenswear and menswear last year, tasked with reviving the brand's performance after two years of falling sales. LVMH does not disclose figures for Dior but said in July that the brand was gaining momentum.
Guests received show invitations in a box containing two wenwan nuts, the Chinese walnuts used for hand-rolling, and in a post-show press release Anderson cited the nuts and their natural asymmetries as an inspiration for the collection.
