Dolly Parton Estate Plans Two-City Festival to Honor Late Icon

The estate of Dolly Parton, who died of cancer last week at age 80, has announced a two-day festival called Dollyfest, scheduled for 2027 in Nashville and London. The event was originally planned for January 2026, around what would have been her 80th birthday, with Parton as performer and host. Now it will serve as a celebration of her life and legacy.
Organizer Danny Nozell, founder and CEO of CTK Enterprises, explained that the festival concept was Parton's own idea. "We had the venue booked and we had the announcement ready to go," he said, but Parton had to step back in August 2025 due to health challenges. He added that while fans are free to celebrate her in their own ways, a traditional memorial was not what Parton wanted. Instead, the festival-style tribute feels more appropriate, allowing natural tributes to occur first.
A private service for Parton was held on Friday, attended only by immediate family. No public ceremony will take place, per her wishes. Her great-niece, Lainey Parton, shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute on Saturday, recalling how her "granny" always made her feel enough and believed in her dreams.
