DroneShield wins US$500 million US IDIQ contract for domestic counter-drone shield
DroneShield has been awarded the JIATF-401 Domestic Shield IDIQ contract in the US, a three-year procurement vehicle with a US$500 million ceiling that guarantees no orders.
DroneShield Limited has secured a US procurement vehicle worth up to US$500 million, the company said, marking a significant potential opening in the American counter-drone market.
The award is for the JIATF-401 Domestic Shield indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract in the United States. The vehicle runs for a three-year term and carries a ceiling value of US$500 million.
An IDIQ structure allows authorised buyers to place orders against pre-agreed terms over the life of the contract, rather than committing to a single fixed purchase. As such, the company noted that the contract does not guarantee any orders or quantifiable amounts.
The ceiling figure therefore represents the maximum value that could be awarded through the vehicle, not confirmed revenue. Actual work would depend on task orders issued by the relevant US authorities during the three-year period.
DroneShield develops technology for detecting and countering unmanned aerial systems, a segment that has drawn growing attention from defence and security agencies worldwide.
