ABVP Sweeps Several Delhi University College Polls, SFI Opens Account
ABVP has taken all four key posts in several Delhi University colleges, while SFI secured victories at Zakir Husain and Bhaskaracharya colleges.
Results from student union elections at a number of Delhi University colleges have begun to come in, with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) emerging on top in a string of campuses. The outcomes pertain to individual college unions and are separate from the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) polls.
According to the results declared so far, ABVP candidates swept every key post at Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Sri Aurobindo College (Morning), Dr BR Ambedkar College, Bharati College and Shivaji College.
At Ramjas College, the ABVP contingent claimed the positions of President, Secretary, Central Councillor and Internal Complaints Committee member. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College saw the organisation win the President and Central Councillor posts, while Keshav Mahavidyalaya returned ABVP candidates as President, Vice-President and Secretary.
The Students' Federation of India (SFI) also made its presence felt, winning the Joint Secretary post at Zakir Husain College and the President post at Bhaskaracharya College.
These college-specific mandates should not be read as the DUSU outcome. The university-level contest covers the posts of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint Secretary, with counting slated for September 19.
