Delhi University Releases Final Candidate List for DUSU Elections 2026-27
Delhi University has released its provisional list of candidates for the DUSU Elections 2026-27 across all four central panel posts.
The University of Delhi has published its list of candidates cleared to contest the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) Elections 2026-27, following scrutiny and the withdrawal of nomination papers. The notice covers the four central panel posts — President, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint Secretary — and remains provisional, subject to further verification of documents.
Seven candidates are in the running for the President's post: Ananya Raturi, Ashmit Kumar, Ejaj Mansuri, Samarth Beniwal, Sameer Kumar, Vijay Shankar Meena and Yash Dabas. Two of them, Samarth Beniwal and Vijay Shankar Meena, are from the Department of Buddhist Studies.
The Vice-President's race has five candidates — Aranya Singh Rathore, Deepanshu Shokeen, Ishu Maurya, Vir Chatrath and Akshat Shikhar. The university said Akshat Shikhar's nomination was found valid after a recommendation from the Grievance Redressal Cell.
Four candidates are contesting the Secretary's post: Namrata Chaudhary, Pankaj Kumar, Riya Chhawdi and Stanzin Deskyong. Three of the four are women.
For Joint Secretary, four candidates have been listed — B Parijat, Gopal Choudhary, Lakshay Raj Singh and Vishesh Yadav.
The contest is being watched closely against the backdrop of recent student issues and protests on campus. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, could find some posts easier to contest, with candidates linked to the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the Congress' student wing, entering the race independently.
The university has cautioned that nominations may be cancelled if any discrepancy surfaces during further verification.
