DYFI to March on KILA Over Alleged Backdoor Appointments
DYFI will march to KILA on Thursday, alleging appointments were made without due process and seeking a probe.
The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will take out a march to the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) on Thursday, protesting what it describes as irregular recruitment at the institution and pressing for an inquiry.
In a statement, DYFI Thrissur district secretary K.S. Rosselraj and district president P.H. Niyas alleged that a number of appointments at KILA over the past four months bypassed the prescribed recruitment process.
The organisation pointed to the appointments of MSF State treasurer Mohammed Rashid, also known as Rashid Kokkoor, as a coordinator at KILA headquarters, and MSF Thrissur district president Shafeekh T.K. as coordinator/IT support (technical expert). Both positions, it said, carry a monthly remuneration of ₹25,000.
According to the DYFI, these appointments were made without public notifications, written examinations or interviews. It further alleged that lists of candidates were being forwarded from the Minister's Office for various positions, including the helpdesk.
The youth organisation also claimed that candidates who had secured places on rank lists through notified selection procedures were being removed before their contract periods ended.
It alleged that party workers were being appointed to such vacancies on the recommendations of Congress and Indian Union Muslim League leaders, and that some of those appointed had been assured regularisation during the government's five-year term.
The DYFI described the alleged appointments as unfair to unemployed youth seeking government and public-sector jobs, and demanded an inquiry into the recruitment process.
The march is being organised to protest the alleged appointments and to demand transparency in recruitment at KILA.
