ED Searches Home of Absconding Ganja Supplier in Hyderabad
ED searches Hyderabad home of absconding ganja supplier Neetu Bai in a money-laundering probe tied to a drug network.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches on Thursday at the residence of a woman wanted in multiple marijuana trafficking cases in Telangana. The action, part of a money-laundering investigation, targeted the home of 48-year-old Neetu Bai alias Kalapathi Nithu Bai in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad.
Officials said Neetu Bai is currently absconding. The ED's probe stems from a First Information Report registered by the Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE). She had reportedly evaded arrest during a special EAGLE operation in Nanakramguda in June.
According to officials, Neetu Bai allegedly operated from Lotha Basti in Nanakramguda, supplying marijuana to customers that included software professionals in the nearby IT corridor. She is suspected to have continued the activity through associates while remaining underground for over a year.
The searches are part of the ED's investigation into the alleged proceeds of the drug trade and the movement of money linked to the activity.
