Actor Emraan Hashmi has been diagnosed with swine flu (H1N1) and is currently recovering after feeling unwell for several days. The news comes as the actor enjoys the success of his latest film, 'Awarapan 2'.
Hashmi took to Instagram to inform fans about his condition, revealing that he was "really unwell" and had to postpone an upcoming meet-and-greet in Bengaluru. In his message, he apologised to fans and assured them that the event would be rescheduled.
"Hey Bangalore, I'm really unwell and unfortunately won't be able to make it to the Bangalore show. But picture khatam nahi hua, bas postpone hua hai!" he wrote, confirming that the event will now take place at Sunburn Union on September 12. He added that existing tickets would remain valid for the new date.
Meanwhile, Hashmi is currently in the spotlight for 'Awarapan 2', directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films. The sequel sees him reprise his role as Shivam Pandit, who is enlisted by an Interpol officer to help rescue abducted children. The film also stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, with supporting performances from Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, and Puran Gabbi.
The movie is a follow-up to the 2007 original 'Awarapan', directed by Mohit Suri. While the first film had a modest box-office run initially, it later developed a strong cult following, with its soundtrack—including the popular track 'Toh Phir Aao'—remaining beloved by audiences.
