Fake Job Racket Busted in Karimnagar, Impersonator Arrested
Karimnagar police arrested Dudapaka Thirupathi for running a fake recruitment racket, cheating 21 job seekers of ₹44 lakh by impersonating a professor.
The Karimnagar Two-Town police have dismantled a fraudulent recruitment operation with the arrest of its alleged mastermind, Dudapaka Thirupathi, a 51-year-old resident of Ippalapalli village in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. The arrest took place on Tuesday in the vicinity of Satavahana University.
Investigators revealed that Thirupathi and his accomplices collected approximately ₹44 lakh from 21 individuals who were promised outsourcing positions within the BC Welfare Department and other government bodies. The victims were led to believe that the payments would secure their employment.
In one specific case, Thirupathi allegedly masqueraded as a Botany professor at Satavahana University to defraud P. Mamatha of Karimnagar. He reportedly took ₹1.50 lakh from her with the promise of an outsourcing job for her daughter and subsequently provided a forged appointment order.
The racket came to light after Mamatha filed a formal complaint. Acting on her statement, a police team conducted an investigation that led to Thirupathi's apprehension. Authorities have stated that efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining seven individuals implicated in the scheme.
