Farhan Akhtar Mourns Nepal Flash Floods, Calls Tragedy 'Devastatingly Painful'

Actor Farhan Akhtar has joined the growing chorus of voices expressing grief and solidarity over the catastrophic flash floods and mudslides that have struck the Nepal-Tibet border region. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Akhtar described the visuals emerging from the disaster as "horrific" and acknowledged the profound helplessness experienced by those caught in the path of the deluge.

"My heart goes out to all affected by the flash floods and mudslide on the Nepal-Tibet border," Akhtar wrote. "The videos and images of the catastrophe are horrific, and one can't even begin to imagine how helpless those who were in its path must have felt and how devastatingly painful it must be for those they've left behind."

His message comes as rescue and relief operations continue in Nepal, where the disaster has claimed at least 258 lives, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA). The agency also reports that 910 people remain missing or out of contact, including 517 foreign nationals and 127 Nepali citizens living abroad who were visiting the country.

Akhtar is not alone in reaching out. Actors Sonu Sood and Manisha Koirala have also expressed their support. Sood, known for his humanitarian efforts, pledged on X: "Nepal, you are not alone. We are coming with food, shelter and the strength to help you rebuild." Koirala, who has deep ties to Nepal, shared images of the destruction and simply urged, "Pray for Nepal."
