Faridabad Student Dies After Jumping From School Building Following Punishment

A 16-year-old Faridabad student died after jumping from her school's third floor. Her family alleges she was punished over a biryani fight; school denies it.

A 16-year-old student in Faridabad died on Tuesday after jumping from the third floor of her school, Navodaya Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School. The girl, a resident of the Dabua area, was seriously injured in the fall and was taken to a private hospital before being referred to BK Hospital, where she was declared dead.

The incident has sparked a dispute over what led to the tragedy. The girl's father has alleged that his daughter was punished by a teacher for a quarrel among classmates over biryani. He claims she was not involved in the fight but was still forced to stand in the sun for several hours, an ordeal he says humiliated and traumatised her, driving her to take the extreme step.

However, the school's principal, RK Sharma, has denied these allegations, stating that the student was not punished. According to the principal, the girl left her classroom saying she needed to go to the bathroom, but instead went to the third floor and jumped.

Police have registered a case and are collecting statements from the school management, teachers, and the student's family to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
