NMC Opens FMGE Eligibility Certificate Portal on September 1
NMC will accept FMGE Eligibility Certificate applications from September 1 to 30, 2026. Candidates must verify documents and keep mobile numbers active.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) will open the online application window for the Eligibility Certificate (EC) required for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) on September 1, 2026, at 10 AM. The portal will remain open until September 30, 2026, 6 PM, according to a public notice issued by the commission.
Candidates who have not yet obtained the Eligibility Certificate are required to apply through NMC's online registration portal. Those who have already submitted an application for the certificate in the past do not need to apply again.
The FMGE Screening Test is expected to be conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in the coming months. Candidates cannot register for the screening test without the Eligibility Certificate issued by NMC.
NMC has advised applicants to fill the form themselves rather than using a proxy, keep all required documents ready before starting the application, and verify every entry against original documents before submission. The commission has also stressed the importance of providing an active mobile number so that authorities can reach applicants if any deficiency is found in the application.
If a deficiency is communicated, candidates should rectify it promptly to avoid a last-minute rush. NMC noted that these measures are suggestive and not exhaustive, and urged applicants to exercise due diligence while submitting their forms.
