Gal Gadot reveals broken feet, rollerblade cameraman behind 'The Runner'

Gal Gadot discusses stress fractures, a rollerblading cameraman, and her unconventional workout playlist for 'The Runner'.

Gal Gadot's latest role came with a heavy physical price. The actor has revealed she finished production on her new film, 'The Runner', on crutches after sustaining stress fractures in her feet from the extensive running required for the part.

"I just broke my feet," Gadot said. "I had like stress fractures after all the stress, after all of the running." She added that she drew inspiration from a Hollywood action icon to push through the pain: "I kept on thinking 'Tom Cruise, Tom Cruise does these things every movie he makes.' So I, you know, he was my idol. He was my inspiration."

In the film, Gadot plays a lawyer racing against time across London to save a loved one. The production faced unique challenges, particularly when filming in busy public areas. Gadot explained that the crew could not shut down Camden, forcing her to run through crowds with a cameraman on rollerblades.

"The camera guy was on rollerblades and like he was holding the camera on his back and doing the whole thing, hoping that he's capturing me," she said, describing the shoot as a "commercial for London."

Despite not being a fan of running, Gadot said she embraced the challenge. "I like the challenge, obviously. Everything I do, it's not like a walk in the park," she said, adding that she views learning new skills as a privilege.

When it comes to workout motivation, Gadot relies on music. She admitted that her playlist can get intense, citing The Prodigy's 'Smack My Bitch Up' as a go-to track for an energy boost.

'The Runner' is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 2.
