GATE 2027: Regular Registration Window Closes Today, Late Fee Option Till October 5
IIT Madras closes the regular GATE 2027 registration window on September 27; applicants can still register till October 5 with a late fee.
The regular registration window for GATE 2027 closes on September 27, with IIT Madras serving as the organising institute for the examination. Candidates yet to apply can submit their forms through the official portal, gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
Those who miss the September 27 cut-off will have another opportunity to register until October 5, provided they pay an additional late fee.
Application fee
The fee structure depends on the candidate's category. Women, SC, ST and PwD candidates pay Rs 1,000 per paper during the regular window, while all other candidates pay Rs 2,000 per paper. Applicants using the extended window will be charged an extra Rs 500 per paper as a late fee.
How to apply
Candidates can complete the process by visiting the official website and opening the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The form requires personal, academic and communication details, along with facial authentication and uploaded documents. After paying the fee through the available online payment options, applicants should submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
Documents to keep ready
Applicants should have a recent passport-size photograph, a scanned signature and a valid photo ID proof such as an Aadhaar Card or Voter ID. Category certificates and PwD certificates are required where applicable.
Exam schedule
GATE 2027 is scheduled to be held on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21. Scores from the test are used for admission to postgraduate programmes and may also be considered by participating public sector undertakings for recruitment.
