GHMC Cancels Guttala Begumpet Building Permit Over Fake LRS Papers

GHMC has cancelled a building permission in Guttala Begumpet after LRS documents were found to be in others' names; Madhapur police have registered a case.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has cancelled a building permission granted for a property in Guttala Begumpet after a verification exercise found that the LRS documents submitted with the application stood in the names of other individuals.

A police case has been registered at Madhapur Police Station on a complaint filed by the Deputy Commissioner of CMC Circle-50. The complaint names Shaik Mastan and alleges that permission was obtained through the TG-bPASS system by submitting documents unconnected to Plot No. 55 in Survey No. 32, and without the mandatory Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) clearance certificate.

The matter came to light after a complaint was lodged with the Deputy Commissioner's office in Kukatpally Zone, Madhapur Circle-50, in which the complainant claimed that his brother was the rightful owner of the plot.

During scrutiny, municipal officials found that the LRS documents attached to the building permission application had been issued in the names of other persons. They also found that only a ULC acknowledgment had been furnished in place of the required ULC clearance certificate. The permission was cancelled following these findings.

Officials subsequently observed that construction work was allegedly continuing at the site despite the cancellation. They cautioned that action would be initiated as per law if building activity proceeded without a valid permission.

The police case covers allegations of submitting fake or invalid LRS documents, securing building permission without the mandatory ULC clearance certificate, concealing facts while obtaining the permit, and attempting to carry on construction after the permission was cancelled.

As part of the investigation, police are examining LRS and ULC records, the documents filed for the building permission, and details of the construction carried out at the site.
