Global Aid Flows to Nepal After Deadly Flash Floods

Nepal is receiving a wave of international assistance after flash floods killed more than 160 people and left hundreds missing. Governments and humanitarian organizations have pledged or delivered cash, relief materials, and technical support to aid the country's response.
China's ambassador to Nepal announced on social media that emergency supplies and cash assistance have been coordinated. The European Union, through European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, said it is ready to mobilize further European help.
India has dispatched 10 metric tons of disaster-relief supplies, including temporary shelters, blankets, hygiene kits, solar lamps, and medicines, according to its foreign ministry. The United States is sending a disaster response adviser and providing $500,000 in funding, the State Department said.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is releasing 1 million Swiss francs (about $1.24 million) in emergency funding to support the Nepal Red Cross Society's flood response. The World Health Organization has sent essential emergency medical supplies, including medicines and multipurpose tents, as confirmed by WHO Nepal on social media.
