₹200 crore sanctioned for Godavari Pushkaralu works in Dharmapuri
Telangana sanctions ₹200 crore for Godavari Pushkaralu-2027 infrastructure in Dharmapuri constituency, including ghats and roads.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has announced the sanction of ₹200 crore for development works linked to the Godavari Pushkaralu-2027 in the Dharmapuri Assembly constituency of Jagtial district.
The funds will support the construction of pushkar ghats at Dharmapuri and Kotilingala, both prominent pilgrimage centres along the Godavari river. The announcement was made on Monday during a visit to the region.
Mr. Vikramarka, accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, performed the Bhoomi Puja for the reconstruction of the Sri Ugra Narasimha Swamy temple in Dharmapuri. The temple project is estimated to cost ₹10 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said the state government has prepared a comprehensive plan to conduct the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027 on a grand scale. The plan includes developing major temples along the river stretch from Basar in Nirmal district to Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Adequate pilgrim amenities will be provided at all major Pushkaram sites, he assured.
As part of the infrastructure push, the foundation stone was laid for pushkar ghats at Dharmapuri, a project worth ₹22.16 crore. Additionally, nine road works costing ₹58.55 crore were inaugurated at Dharmapuri and Kotilingala to improve connectivity for the expected influx of devotees.
